Graduate Research Funding for Ph.D. Candidates
Graduate Research Funding is available through the Center for Health and Wellbeing (CHW) of the Woodrow Wilson School for Princeton University Ph.D. candidates. CHW supports research on the multiple aspects of health and wellbeing in both developed and developing countries.
Applications are welcome from a variety of health-related disciplines and across a broad range of multi-disciplinary perspectives. These include anthropology, history, philosophy, sociology, economics, psychology, politics, biology, bioethics, public policy and other social science and humanities disciplines.
Grants vary in size; the maximum grant is $5000 per annum. These funds can be used to defray pre-dissertation or dissertation costs associated with some aspect of research or training relevant to the student's proposal. Valid costs include such things as: the purchase and collection of data, travel to conferences, and training costs. Applicants may include a stipend for food of up to $25.00 per day while traveling. Funding for salaries or stipends is not available. Travel to the student’s home is not covered.
Successful applicants may be asked to present their findings at an informal lunch seminar sponsored by CHW.
To apply, please complete the application form and return it to Susan Rizzo (srizzo@princeton.edu) by the November 16, 2009 deadline.
