The Twelve Tables
The Twelve Tables sets out the rationale and requirements of the five-year program leading to a Ph.D. in Classics. Students who entered the program in September 2011 and before follow the program described in this version of the document; students entering in September 2012 and later follow the program described in this version of the document. When in doubt about the provisions, please consult the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS).
Generals
A "Generals Preparation Guide" for our students is available through the Graduate Administrator.
When you have passed your Generals and completed departmental requirements, you may apply for your M.A. degree. Please see the Graduate Administrator for further information.
Post-Enrollment
At the end of your fifth year of study you will need to determine if you will opt for the status of Dissertation Completion Enrollment (DCE) status or Enrollment Terminated/Degree Candidacy Continues (ET/DCC). For more information on these statuses please visit the Graduate School's website.
