Profile
I’m primarily interested in the interaction of early Christian writers with their Classical past, espeically in highly literary forms—poetry, narrative, and dialogue, among others. While Greek Christian writers are my primary interest (especially those of the first four centuries), I am also interested in Latin and Syriac writers, and on the relationship between these three language cultures. I will be writing my dissertation on Methodius of Olympus’ Symposium, a 3rd century AD text in the form of a dialogue between ten Christian virgins in a rhetorical competition whose subject is chastity.
This is my third year as a Resident Graduate Student at Rockefeller College, and I am also involved in many campus activities, including beekeeping and the Georgian choir.
