Commencement 2018

Welcome to Princeton University's 271st Commencement Web pages. This information focuses on events for all seniors and advanced degree candidates and will be updated throughout the year.  Please check with your student about activities that he or she is involved with and that might be planning special events around commencement. Key event dates for 2018 are given below.  The Websites will be updated during summer 2017.

Sunday, June 3, 2018

Baccalaureate. 2 p.m. Held in the Chapel with seating for guests in simulcast locations near the Chapel, this interfaith service features a guest speaker.

Senior Prom. 9:00 p.m.-midnight in Jadwin Gym.  Each senior receives 5 guest tickets.

Monday, June 4, 2018

For seniors
Class Day. 10:30 a.m. This event is focused on the senior class and includes remarks by President Eisgruber.  If weather permits, it is held on Cannon Green with a picnic lunch to follow (in the event of severe weather, seniors will assemble in the chapel and guests in simulcast locations including Dillon Gym and Alexander Hall). 
Departmental receptions. Held in the afternoon. Information about time and place is sent to seniors in the spring by the departments and programs.
Senior Class Step Sing.  10:00 p.m.  Blair arch on the steps of Blair Hall (or Dillon Gym in case of rain).  No tickets are required and guests may attend.

For advanced degree candidates
Dean's lunch for doctoral degree candidates. Noon. Held at the Graduate College.
Hooding Ceremony. 4:30p.m. Cannon Green (or Jadwin Gym in case of rain). 

Tuesday, June 5, 2018

Commencement. 11:00 a.m. (guests must be seated by 10:20 a.m.). Granting of degrees and address by President Eisgruber. Distribution of diplomas in the Residential Colleges for seniors follows.

PHOTOS OF ALL COMMENCEMENT EVENTS: Professional photographers take photos of graduates at Commencement events, including graduates exiting the FitzRandolph Gate at the end of Commencement.  Photographers from past commencements can be viewed at the site: http://www.princeton.edu/pr/gradpics/2017/
