Denise Applewhite, who serves as the senior staff photographer, earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in professional photographic illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1985. Prior to coming to Princeton in 1991, she worked in New York shooting advertising, editorial and corporate work for such clients as Bill Blass, J.C. Penney, Ciba-Geigy and AT&T. Denise also has undertaken community projects such as providing photography for the 1990 annual report of the New Jersey commission on science and technology. Denise has exhibited her fine art photography in galleries throughout Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey. She served as photography director on two digital movie shorts, one of which, "Bodyclock," was shown at the 2001 Rebel Film Festival in New York. Denise enjoys spending time with her family and has made them the subject of her next independent film, which is about two children who long to explore their cultural heritage and the far-away land in which it thrives.
