Comparative Literature

Elise Wang studies poetry and poetics, particularly in late medieval England and France. She is interested in metrics and calculation in poetry, as well as the relationship between poetic calculation and the reckoning of punishment. She is a co-founder and editor of Inventory, Princeton’s journal of literary translation. She also teaches a poetry class at a nearby prison, where she has designed and taught three other courses. Before coming to Princeton, she received an A.B. from Harvard University and an M.St. from Oxford University.
