Farewell to Princyclopedia
Dear Cotsen Patrons,
Just as every book series comes to an end, so do events. Princyclopedia 2013 was our triumphant last.
After seven years of Princyclopedia, many thanks are in order. To all the participants and contributors from the University and the town who made this event so special year after year, you have my admiration and gratitude. To Andrea Immel, Cotsen’s Curator, thank you for your guidance, generosity and invaluable assistance every step of the way. To Aaron Pickett, Cotsen’s former Curatorial Assistant, who was always as enthusiastic and helpful arriving to the event at 7am as he was departing at 5pm – many thanks. To Rare Books staffers John Blazejewski, Miriam Jankiewicz, and Minjie Chen, thank you for repeatedly lending your superb skills.
To my student assistants over the years - Emily Garcia, Katie McGee, Elizabeth Lemoine and Kim Freid – thank you for juggling your academics and event planning so cheerfully and competently. To Katie Zondlo, my part-time event assistant of the past two years, you are nothing short of stupendous. To the amazing Erin Metro in the Office of Community and Regional Affairs, who has been supporting and helping coordinate Princyclopedia from the very beginning - thank you.
Thank YOU, too. I have watched you explore, learn, and discover at Princyclopedia over the past seven years, and it has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to join in the magic with you. Though Princyclopedia is over, I’m actively developing new programs to replace it, including an oft-requested story time blog, innovative literacy events, and interesting investigations into resources for reluctant readers.
See you at Cotsen,
