Council on Science and Technology
Welcome to the Council on Science and Technology (CST)! In cooperation with the science and engineering departments, CST fosters university-wide engagement in science and engineering. We are honored to serve the Princeton community by collaboratively engaging in and exploring the societal impact of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Recognizing that we live in an increasingly integrated world, CST aims to explore common themes across traditionally separate content areas. We promote the development of innovative courses in science and engineering, sponsor public lectures, panel sessions and lunchtime seminars, and continue to examine new ways to promote exchanges and cross-disciplinary collaborations among students, faculty and staff across the natural sciences, engineering, the humanities, and the social sciences. We invite students, faculty, staff, alumni and the larger community to participate in CST initiatives, as well as to propose new and innovative ways to bridge STEM, the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
CST addresses the university’s mission to attract and retain new talent to STEM disciplines, and to instill an appreciation, curiosity, and basic understanding of natural science and engineering and their central role in society. Our broader goal is to ensure that all students graduating from Princeton can be exemplary citizens, voters, and leaders armed with the ability to assess and appreciate the technological and scientific issues of the day.
