STL and STN Courses
Beginning with the incoming class of 2015, A.B. students are required to take two ST courses, at least one of which must be an STL (science class with a lab). Students who entered before 2015 must fulfill the requirements in place at the time that they entered, and must take two STL courses, or, in some cases, an STL and STX. To learn more about the STL, STN, and QR courses, please visit the ST and QR Offerings page.
The Council on Science and Technology ensures that courses designated STL or STN are of high quality and scientifically rigorous. Through these courses, we hope that all students will be able to engage in science and engineering studies in a meaningful way. To learn more about the Council's goals for these courses, please visit the STL and STN Goals page.
Faculty members can request that existing or new courses be designated as an STL or STN. For more information, please visit the STL and STN Designation page.
