Jeffrey Edelstein is currently engaged in research on the recent history of foundation philanthropy toward the visual and performing arts in the United States. He is interested in changes (and perceived changes) in the criteria for arts funding, particularly the ramifications of these changes both for the mission of philanthropic organizations and for the production of art. Mr. Edelstein has abiding research interests in the management of governmental and nonprofit sector organizations focused on the arts as well as in the history of the visual and performing arts.
