US-China Relations and the Issue of Climate Change - Ken Lieberthal, Brookings

The Princeton-Harvard China and the World Program and Woodrow Wilson School will host a public lecture with Kenneth G. Lieberthal, Professor of Political Science at the University of Michigan and a Brookings Institution Visiting Fellow , titled, "U.S.-China Relations and the Issue of Climate Change at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009 in Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall, on the Princeton University campus. Kenneth Lieberthal is director of the John L. Thornton China Center and senior fellow in Foreign Policy and Global Economy and Development at Brookings. He is also a Professor of Political Science at the University of Michigan. He served as special assistant to the president for national security affairs and senior director for Asia on the National Security Council from August 1998 to October 2000. His government responsibilities encompassed U.S. policy toward Northeast, East and Southeast Asia. Some of Lieberthal's recent publications include, "Scorched Earth: Will Environmental Risks in China overwhelm its Opportunities," Harvard Business Review (June 2007), "How Domestic Forces Shape the PRC's Grand Strategy and Domestic Impact," Strategic Asia 2007-08, and "China's Search for Energy Policy: Implications for U.S. Policy," NBR Analysis (April 2006). This event is sponsored by the Princeton-Harvard China and the World Program of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. It is free and open to the public.
