Foreign Policy of China

Consul General Sun Guoxiang of the Consulate General in New York is a career diplomat with the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1981. He has served previously in Laos, Canada, and the home office as a staff member. After which, he studied at the School of Advanced International Studies at John Hopkins University from 1995-1996. He then served as the Deputy Director and Deputy Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has served as Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Republic of the Maldives, Turkey, and Vietnam.
