OIT Administrative Information Services
Departmental Application Services (DAS)
What we do
Departmental Application Services (DAS) builds web applications for Princeton University departments and works to develop, support, and document the tools it uses for this purpose.
Part of OIT Administrative Information Services' CDI group, DAS addresses the need for professionally developed web applications that cannot be implemented by Princeton staff, yet which fall below the enterprise level systems deployed by AIS. DAS focuses on applications that have departmental rather than University scope, and which are intended to solve immediate information gathering and dissemination needs. Typically, these are small-scale applications that can be developed in days or weeks.
Examples
The following are examples of the types of web applications DAS staff have developed in the past and can adapt for your department.
- Departmental web sites employing data-driven content
- Web forms that gather data and store it in a database
- Web sites allowing multiple concurrent access to data
- Web-based registration or application systems
To request our services for your department, please fill out our work request form. All work requiring more than eight hours must be specified in a signed project agreement. For information about costs see our billing policies.
If you have general questions about the tools DAS uses to create web applications, or specific questions about how to use those tools, please email your question to oitdas@princeton.edu.
