DeSC Hardware Timeline/Road Map
The DeSC machine life cycle is currently five (5) years, although members of the Council factor in performance and software requirements when new hardware is considered. To help departments plan the replacement of aging computers, we offer the timeline below.
The DeSC Hardware Timeline has been updated to reflect the new policy of changing DeSC desktop models participation in DeSC from a maximum of four years to a maximum of five years. DeSC laptop models will remain at a four (4) year life cycle.
The table lists each of the hardware configurations historically permitted to join DeSC since the last year of the Windows Vista Migration and relevant dates for each configuration.
