How to order Adobe Products

If department users on Princeton university owned computers still need to use one or more of these applications, the department may purchase an Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) "Named-user" annual license from the OIT Store www.princeton.edu/oitstore for the user.   Adobe CC licenses are a 1 year annual lease (prorated to the university’s renewal date of June 13, 2018).  This subscription allows an individual user to use one, two, or all the Adobe Creative Cloud apps on up to two machines (not simultaneously).

Pricing (as of 8/18/2017) is as follows:

One Creative Cloud app - $77.00
Two Creative Cloud apps = $154.00
Three or more (all of the CC apps) = $179.00

Examples:

  • User needs to run Dreamweaver.  The named user price is $77.00

  • User needs to run both Photoshop and Indesign.  The named user price is $154.00

  • User needs to run Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign.  The named user price is $179.00.   At this price point all the Creative Cloud apps are available to this user

To view list of all available Creative Cloud apps (besides those listed above), see - http://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/catalog/desktop.html

When ordering a CC named user license, you will need to specify the user’s netid.  Once purchased, the named user will be asked to create an AdobeID with Adobe based on their Princeton email address (netid@princeton.edu).  This is how they will authenticate and license their Adobe CC purchase.

DeSC Licensed Software Update - June 2017

Important Update

Adobe Acrobat Document Creator (DC)  - Princeton Enterprise Agreement – Available in July 11, 2017

The use of Acrobat Professional is so prevalent that it was determined that an enterprise license was the most cost effective way to provide the software to all those who need it.  An additional benefit is that the secure product, Acrobat Pro DC, is in use across campus, and that older versions will be gone. OIT will have the license in place by July 1 and will have installers available July 11, 2017.  The software may be installed on all institutionally owned computers free of charge. OIT will distribute Acrobat DC to DeSC Standard computers this summer.

Adobe DC will be automatically distributed to DeSC/MacDeSC Standard and DeSC/MacDeSC Lite managed environments on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 starting at 6:00pm.

Adobe Creative Cloud Products – Not Part of Princeton Enterprise Agreement

The University will not pursue an enterprise agreement for Creative Cloud.  Departments that require any of the creative products previously available through DeSC such as Photoshop or InDesign will need to purchase a subscription to Creative Cloud.

Clarivate Analytics EndNote

OIT will not renew the site license for EndNote .  Endnote is scheduled to be uninstall from DeSC and MacDeSC Standard computers in late 2017.
