Warranty Repairs

Hardware Support is an authorized warranty repair center for several major equipment vendors. Following are the vendor-specific warranty policies:

Apple

  • Most warranties provide carry-in service only
  • Consult your manual for specifics about your warranty
  • Call 800-SOS-APPL for more information, or visit Apple Support
  • Have your serial number handy

Dell

General Terms:

  • All Dell warranties begin on the day that the machine was originally shipped
  • Consult your original purchase receipt for specifics about your warranty
  • Call 1-888-560-8324 for more information, or review Dell's Warranty Statement
  • Have your Service Tag (a 5- or 7-digit alpha-numeric code) handy

Optiplex and Dimension Product Lines:

  • See "Dell General Terms" section for information about checking your warranty
  • Onsite labor coverage does not apply to CRUs such as Mice, Keyboards, Speakers and Displays
  • These items will be replaced as parts under your warranty; labor is not covered
  • Dell will ship replacement parts directly to you. Call 1-888-560-8324 for information

Poweredge Server Product Line:

  • See "Dell General Terms" section for information about checking your warranty
  • If you require 4 hour service on your servers, review Dell’s upgraded warranty offerings
  • HWS will make every effort to provide service by the next business day

Latitude/Inspiron Notebook Product Line:

  • See your manual or call Dell at 1-888-560-8324 for information about your warranty
  • We perform both in-warranty and out-of-warranty repairs
  • For your convenience, you can drop off your computer at the Solutions Center
  • Batteries are covered only for the first year of warranty
  • Dell will not cover labor to replace CRUs (Consumer Replaceable Units) such as floppy drives, CD-ROM/DVD drives, AC adapters, and batteries

Dell Printers:

  • Hardware Support is certified to work on Dell printers
  • Please contact us at 8-6199 to open a repair call on in-warranty or-out-of warranty printers

Hewlett-Packard (Printers Only)

  • We now provide in- and out-of-warranty service for a wide variety of HP printers
  • Please contact Adam Re at 8-6037 to find out if your specific model printer is supported
  • Consult your manual and original receipt for specifics about your warranty
  • Call 1-800-474-6836 or visit HP for information about your warranty
  • Have your serial number handy

IBM/Lenovo

  • We perform both in-warranty and out-of-warranty repairs
  • For your convenience, you can drop off your computer at the Solutions Center
  • Consult your manual and original receipt for specifics about your warranty
  • Call 1-800-426-7378 for more information, or visit IBM Support
  • Have your serial number handy
  • We can verify your warranty status with IBM if needed

Lexmark

  • We no longer provide warranty support for Lexmark products

Xerox

  • Consult your manual and original receipt for specifics about your warranty
  • Warranties for defective materials and workmanship in consumables:
  • Toner cartridges: one year
  • Other consumables (CRCs): 90 days (may be six months if required by law)
  • Warranties on CRCs will not exceed one year from shipment date
  • Customers must notify us or Xerox of defects before warranty expiration

  • Visit Xerox for information about your warranty
