Academic and Administrative Officers

(In addition to those listed in Section II.B.)

THE DEAN OF STUDENT LIFE

The Dean of Student Life has administrative oversight of the social and extracurricular activities of undergraduates. In association with the Dean of the College, the Dean of Student Life has special concern for the encouragement of sound and fruitful relationships between the intellectual and social life of the undergraduate and for those aspects of college life outside the classroom which can contribute to the growth and development of undergraduates as mature, responsible human beings. The Dean of Student Life is also responsible formatters relating to the conduct and discipline of undergraduates.

THE DEAN OF THE WOODROW WILSON SCHOOL OF PUBLIC AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

The Dean of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs has administrative oversight of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.

THE DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE

The Dean of the School of Architecture has administrative oversight the School of Architecture.

THE DEAN OF RELIGIOUS LIFE AND THE DEAN OF THE CHAPEL

The Dean of Religious Life and the Dean of the Chapel has charge, under the President, of the services and the preaching in the University Chapel and has general supervision of the religious activities of the University.

THE LIBRARIAN

The Librarian is responsible, under the Provost, for the administration of the Library, and for the development, care, and safekeeping of the University's collections of books, manuscripts, and related objects.

The Librarian is ex officio Chair of the Faculty Committee on the Library and Computing.

THE REGISTRAR

The Registrar is responsible, under the Provost, for the registration of students, and for maintaining the academic records of all students who have been enrolled in the University. The Registrar is responsible for the preparation and distribution of diplomas.

The Registrar is responsible for developing and maintaining information concerning the academic activities of students as needed for the formulation of University policy.

The Registrar is secretary ex officio of the Faculty Committee on Schedule and is ex officio a member of the Faculty Committee on Examinations and Standing.

THE DEAN OF ADMISSION

The Dean of Admission is responsible, under the Dean of the College, for the administration of the policies and rules in regard to the selection and admission of undergraduate students into the University and serves as Director of the Office of Admission.

The Dean of Admission is an ex officio member of the Faculty Committees on Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid and Examinations and Standing.

THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

The Vice President for Finance and Administration has responsibility for coordinating and developing policies and plans for the financial, administrative, and corporate operations of the University, and has charge, under the Committee on Finance, of the business operations of the Corporation. The Vice President for Finance and Administration is an ex officio member of the Council of the Princeton University Community and of its Committees on Priorities and on Resources.

THE VICE PRESIDENT AND SECRETARY

The Vice President and Secretary has charge of the general correspondence and official convocations of the University, and, with the assistance of the Archivist, has custody of the papers relating to the records of the University. He or she has administrative oversight of the Office of the General Counsel.

THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR DEVELOPMENT

The Vice President for Development has administrative responsibility for the programs designed to enlist financial support for the University.

THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR PUBLIC AFFAIRS

The Vice President for Public Affairs has administrative oversight, under the President, of the presentation of the objectives and activities of the University to all its various publics, and as required, shall serve as spokesperson for the University. The Vice President for Public Affairs has general administrative responsibility for the offices of Governmental Affairs, Communications/Publications, and the Alumni Council. The Vice President for Public Affairs is an ex officio member of the Faculty Committee on Continuing Education.

THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR FACILITIES

The Vice President for Facilities is responsible for physical planning and has administrative oversight, under the Vice President for Finance and Administration, of the operation and maintenance of the physical plant of the University, and the provision of housing and food services to the University's students, Faculty, and staff.

THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR COMPUTING AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The Vice President for Computing and Information Technology is responsible, under the Provost, for the planning and oversight of all University activities and services in computing and related technologies.

THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR HUMAN RESOURCES

The Vice President for Human Resources, under the Vice President for Finance and Administration, has administrative oversight of the Office of Human Resources and of all matters that pertain to the effectiveness and well-being of nonacademic employees. The Vice President for Human Resources is responsible for making authorized administrative and staff appointments not made by the Board of Trustees.

THE TREASURER

The Treasurer is responsible for the receipt, custody and disbursement of the financial assets of the Corporation and for the proper keeping of the accounts of all departments of the University.

THE GENERAL COUNSEL

The General Counsel, under the Vice President and Secretary, serves as the legal adviser to the University. The General Counsel provides, as the President or the Vice President and Secretary may direct, counsel to officers and departments of the University requiring legal assistance regarding masters under their charge. The General Counsel serves as attorney for the University in matters requiring legal representation, and provides liaison between the University and its other legal counselors.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE PRINCETON UNIVERSITY INVESTMENT COMPANY

Subject to the control of the Directors of the Princeton University Investment Company and the President of the University, the president of the Princeton University Investment Company has general charge and supervision of the business of the Company. The President of the Princeton University Investment Company has authority to sign, in the name and on behalf of the Corporation, all duly authorized contracts, deeds and other instruments relating to the investments of the Corporation.
