Luke Waring’s research interests lie in the field of early Chinese literature and material culture (Shang, Zhou, Qin, and Han dynasties), with a particular focus on poetry, poetics, and excavated writing. His most significant research project to date has been a study of Shijing quotations in the Zuozhuan and the Guoyu. Originally from Bristol, England, Luke earned a B.A. in Chinese Studies from the University of Manchester and an M.A. in East Asian Studies from Yale before joining the Ph.D. program in East Asian Studies at Princeton in fall 2014.
