Yury Polyanskiy wins Student Paper Award
EE Grad Student Yury Polyanskiy has been awarded a 2010 Student Paper Award from the IEEE Information Theory Society for his paper "Variable-length coding with feedback in the non-asymptotic regime," (co-authored with Prof. Vincent Poor and Prof. Sergio Verdu). The Information Theory Society Student Paper Award recognizes outstanding papers presented by a student author at the IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory. The award is given to the student who is the primary contributor to the paper and is given on the basis of both the technical content of the paper and the quality of the presentation.
