Houck receives DARPA Young Faculty Award
Prof. Andrew Houck has received the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)’s Young Faculty Award (YFA) for his research on Scanned Probe Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics. This award will support a student to design and construct a new scanned probe tool for studying the interaction between light and matter and for isolating sources of quantum noise in a massively parallel manner. These problems lie at the heart of constructing a scalable superconducting quantum computer. The YFA program aims to develop the next generation of academic scientists, engineers and mathematicians in important disciplines who will devote a substantial portion of their career on Department of Defense and National Security issues.
