Passing of former EE professor William Hopkins
It is with great sadness that we share the news of William E. Hopkins, Jr.'s passing on June 4th after a month-long illness. Bill joined the faculty in 1982 after receiving his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. He left Princeton several years later to join the faculty at Drexel and eventually changed careers in 1994 to work as an actuary for Mercer Health and Benefits, LLC. Bill enjoyed working with the land and trees at the small Pennsylvania farm that he owned. He is survived by his wife, Alice Deanin, three sons, Peter, David and Mark and his brother, Stephen Hopkins. A graveside service was held June 11th.
