Liu Elected Foreign Member of CAS
Prof. Bede Liu was recently elected as a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The Chinese Academy of Sciences was founded in Beijing on November 1, 1949. It is comprised of the Academic Division and 97 Research Institutes. The Academic Division has some 700 CAS members, and functions as the national scientific think-tank for China, providing advisory and appraisal services on issues of the national economy, social development and science-technology. Election of members, including Foreign Members, is held every two years.
Prof. Liu is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering, an Academician of the Academia Sinica (Taiwan, ROC), and an IEEE Fellow.
