We aim at gaining predictive power over the electronic properties of the title hybrid systems, to allow design of specific systems for defined scientific purposes or applications.
After explaining the problem I will present a mosaic of carefully selected experiments and density functional theory (DFT) computations so as to focus on the critical aspects of the above-mentioned hybrid junctions. By combining the different findings we arrive at a coherent picture in terms of equilibrium charge rearrangement at the semiconductor-monolayer interface, which, as I will show, brings us closer to the aim, an ability to predict the electronic transport behavior of such junctions.
