About RSS and Atom Feeds
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) and Atom are alternative methods of information delivery that are rapidly gaining in popularity on the World Wide Web. Instead of directly visiting the various and many Web sites that offer information of interest, you can have the information delivered or "fed" directly to you in one consolidated interface.
Most web browsers -- Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari -- have a built-in tool for reading RSS feeds. If you click on an RSS link on this page, your browser will set up the feed as a kind of bookmark. You also can access RSS or Atom files using a news aggregator, or reader, a piece of software specifically tailored to receive these types of feeds.
