Liquid Nitrogen Usage Policy
The Engineering School provides, as a service, liquid nitrogen for our customers.
The customer name, date, department, project grant number and qty dispensed are required for departmental billing.
During the business hours of 8:30AM-4:30PM, the liquid nitrogen sign-out sheet in the AD3B stockroom MUST be filled out PRIOR to dispensing.
If the stockroom is closed during this time, there will be a sign-out sheet on the stockroom door which needs to be filled out.
If dispensing beyond normal business hours, the on-line After Hours Liquid Nitrogen Dispensing Form must be filled out and submitted PRIOR to dispensing.
The usage of Personal Protective Equipment is strongly recommended when handling and dispensing liquid nitrogen.
Per Environmental Health and Safety Guidelines, the use of the following Personal Protective Equipment is strongly recommended when handling and dispensing liquid nitrogen:
- Face Shield worn with Chemical Splash Goggles
- Insulated Cryogenic Gloves
- Closed-Toe Shoes
