Our Centers
Humanities Resource Center
The Humanities Resource Center provides technology support, resources, and facilities for study, teaching, and research in the Humanities, providing assistance to Princeton University faculty in incorporating technology and video in their teaching and research. The Center houses language learning materials for both classroom and independent study as well as the University's main video collection. In addition, the HRC also manages the campus digital video course reserves.
New Media Center
…technology at your fingertips
The New Media Center (NMC) provides an OIT-staffed and student-staffed multimedia laboratory for the University community to access cutting edge digital media technologies and receive instruction or assistance in their uses.
Our Services
Almagest
…a multimedia database for teaching & learning
Almagest and Almagest Lecture Builder are tools for teaching and learning that can manage and store images and other media files (audio, video, Flash, PDF, Word, etc.), create and display digital lectures and presentations, and annotate and contextualize data for teaching.
Blackboard (Bb)
Blackboard course websites are automatically built for every course, every semester, with input from University-wide digital systems, to provide comprehensive course-specific data in one convenient location. With Blackboard, course administration burdens are reduced, since sites provide access to course materials, can be used to manage assignments and grades, support a broad range of information-exchange mechanisms, and facilitate student-student and student-faculty interaction.
Web Development Services
We offer design and development services for University websites using the Roxen Content Management System. The Roxen CMS service provides departments with reliable, secure, and highly available websites that are easy to update and expand.
Blog Service
The Princeton University Blog Service is a hosted weblog service that is open to Princeton University faculty, staff, and students. The service supports blogs for departments, administrative organizations, faculty research projects, faculty collaborations, student groups, student publications, classes, etc.
QED/MediaWiki
QED is a web-based Content Creation and Management System, based on MediaWiki software. This means that once you have logged in, you can start making contributions, such as editing existing pages, creating new ones, and uploading files.
