Tips and Tricks Using LaTex
This Productive Scholar by Becca Louie covered the basics of LaTeX, the typesetting language for producing scientific and technical manuscripts. It touched on some of the useful packages that can be used with LaTeX as well as document layout and formatting, and some useful tricks to save time.
Blackboard
Blackboard is Princeton's Learning Management System (LMS). To learn more about what you can do with Blackboard for your courses, e-mail blackboard@princeton.edu.
OpenScholar
OpenScholar was developed at Harvard University as a platform for personal academic sites and academic project sites. It was built on the open-source content management tool, Drupal. Harvard now offers OpenScholar as an open-source web site building tool. Princeton has installed the latest version of Harvard’s OpenScholar.
Research and Writing on the iPad
Will Howarth, Professor Emeritus of English at Princeton, spoke to a large Lunch 'n Learn audience on February 16 about how he uses his iPad as an essential companion to reading, writing, research and travel.
Clickers

Angel Brady from the the HRC presented different apps used on the iPad that can record audio and upload right inside your Blackboard course with a press of a button.
Lunch & Learn: Mapping and Emergency Response: Managing a Flood of Data
Bill Guthe and Wangyal Shawa discussed the tools used to gather data for mapping emergency repsonses and how to access and manage the data quality and relevance.

From specialized software and hardware, to consultation and training, we provide members of the academic community with the tools and information they need to use technology to achieve their goals. We host several talk series, targeted blogs, and will even provide one-on-one consultations for faculty members and staff.
