Joanna Mieczkowska is a sophomore (class of 2016) planning to major in Economics or the Woodrow Wilson School while pursuing a certificate in Contemporary European Politics and Society. She was born in Poland but moved to the United States in the second grade while continuing to visit Poland in the summers. Having been raised with a mixture of both Polish and American culture, Joanna is particularly interested in the political and economical relationship between the United States and Europe. She decided to join the European Union Program after studying abroad in Italy and Poland on a Princeton Global Seminar in the summer of 2013. Joanna’s other main interest is education reform and at Princeton, she is a Verbal Coach with Let’s Get Ready and a discussion series moderator with the Students for Education Reform.
