Walker researches international relations, with a focus on international security, alliance theory, and the US role in the global system. He has graduate training in Middle Eastern studies and held a one-year Fulbright Fellowship in Ankara, Turkey, where he researched Turkish foreign and security policy, its aspirations toward EU and NATO membership. and its national and cultural identity. His interest in International Relations stems from his 15 years spent living overseas in Sapporo, Japan--which he calls home and where his family still resides.
