Important Tips for Moving
All apartment contracts end on June 30th. Unless you have an extension or are retaining your apartment next year, you are expected to vacate your unit on June 30th. The information below is intended to provide you with some important tips to make your transition as smooth as possible.
1. RESERVE YOUR MOVING VAN OR TRUCK EARLY!
Rental vehicles will be in high demand at the end of the month. Below are some of the many companies in our area.

2. PURCHASE YOUR MOVING SUPPLIES EARLY
Do not wait until local supplies have been depleted.
- Many moving companies offer boxes and other moving and packing supplies for sale. You may also purchase these supplies at retail stores like Staples, Office Depot and The UPS Store just to name a few. Start saving newspapers to use as packing material. You may also be able to collect boxes from local retailers like grocery or liquor stores.
- The Moving and Storage Agency will pick-up your belongings in the spring, store them for the summer, and in the fall, deliver them safe and sound to your new campus address. Pick-ups can be scheduled and contracts signed in Frist Campus Center from May 12 to May 23. Table hours will be May 12-17 from 11 AM until 4:00 PM and May 18-23 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM.

- Preferred payment method is Student Account. Cash, Check, MasterCard, and Visa billings are also accepted.
- Hours of Operation
- Return all keys to the Housing Department ON OR BEFORE your vacate date.
- For after hours keys drop off, please place your key(s) in a sealed envelope with your name and room number and leave the envelope in your Superintendent’s Drop Box. This will eliminate the need for costly lock changes to your door(s), mailbox or storage unit
4. NOTIFY THE POST OFFICE 2 WEEKS BEFORE MOVE
You must do this in order to have mail forwarded to your new address. The University cannot forward your mail

- Notify subscription departments (magazines, newspapers, etc.) 3 weeks before the move date.
- Be sure to remove your name from your apartment mailbox. The letter carrier may continue to deliver mail after you have moved out if you do not remove your name from the box.

- This ONLY applies to tenants whose utilities are not included in the monthly rate. To stop being billed for utilities, you must contact PSE&G and cancel your service as per your vacate date.

- Change/Cancel Cable TV account by contacting Patriot Media at 866.727.1776

- Millstone residents should contact Comcast Cable Company
- Change/Cancel your telephone account if you have a landline in your apartment

5. BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS WITH THE MOTOR VEHICLE COMMISSION
- If you are remaining in the State of New Jersey, contact the N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission to change your drivers license and address information.
