Doing Business with the Facilities Organization
General Information and Requirements
Solicitations
When soliciting bids, quotations, and proposals for the procurement of design, construction, and related services, the Facilities Procurement Office issues written and electronic solicitations in the form of Requests for Bids (RFB), Requests for Quotations (RFQ), or Requests for Proposals (RFP). The Facilities Procurement Office employs competition to the maximum extent practicable; however, solicitations are not broadly distributed. Solicitation lists are tailored for each procurement by pulling multiple suppliers from our active vendor database and/or the prequalified supplier list and solicitations are directed only to those firms on the solicitation list.
The Facilities Procurement Office utilizes BidSync, an online service that facilitates electronic posting, management, and receipt of responses to RFB’s and other solicitations. New and existing Suppliers are encouraged to register with BidSync and acquaint themselves with the system. Registration is free and there are no other fees assessed.
Insurance Requirements
The Princeton University Office of Risk Management has established minimum requirements for insurance coverage that must be maintained by Suppliers working onsite at Princeton University. All Suppliers will be required to provide a current certificate of insurance evidencing compliance with Princeton University’s insurance requirements prior to commencing work onsite and maintain that coverage for the entire period of performance.
New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (NJPWA)
The NJPWA selectively applies to construction work being contracted by Princeton University. Solicitations issued by the Facilities Procurement Office will specifically identify if the NJPWA applies to a particular procurement.
