Key Returns
You must return your key when checking out.
Key Return Locations
- MacMillan Building, Housing Department
- MacMillan Building Courtyard, drop box

Receipts for Key Returns
Receipts for key returns can only be issued at the Housing Department during office hours. If you choose to use a drop box for a key return you will not receive a receipt.
Housing Department Hours for Key Returns
The Housing Department will extend its hours during Move Out to accommodate students returning their keys. Housing Department office hours in May are:
- Weekdays in May 8:45 a.m.- 5 p.m.
- Saturday, May 23 8:30 a.m.- noon
- Sunday, May 24 1 p.m.- 4 p.m.
Drop Off Box Instructions
When placing your key in the drop box located in the MacMillan Courtyard or in the lobby at Forbes, please place your key in the envelope provided and label it with your name and room number. You will not receive a receipt if you choose to use the drop box for your key return.
Key Charges
If you do not return your key you will be assessed a $50.00 fee (the cost to change your door lock.).If more than one roommate does not return a key, the cost will be shared. Billing for the non-return of interim housing keys and academic year keys occurs on Friday, June 19.
