Protective Measures for Personal Safety
The Housing Department publishes a list of suggestions for living on campus. This common sense approach involves defensive behaviors, including locking your room door, being aware of your surroundings at all times, and maintaining the integrity of the Card Access System (CACS) by never propping open an entryway door to your residence.

There are several crime prevention initiatives on campus.
- Bike lock purchase
Physically secure your bike by locking it to any campus bike rack. Purchase a bike lock for a nominal fee from Public Safety. - Bike registration
Register your bike with Public Safety as a means of identifying the bike as your own. The decal you receive at registration will serve as proof of ownership. - Laptop registration
Register your laptop with Public Safety as proof of ownership. - P-Ride Express Ride (escort service for late night)
Call P-Ride Express for escort service. - Assault prevention classes
Enroll in any of these worthwhile programs. - Blue Light emergency phone service
Pick up any blue light phone located throughout campus and push the red button to report an emergency. - Laptop cable lock purchase
Secure your laptop to a difficult to move object by purchasing a cable lock at the OIT Solutions Center or at any computer retail store.
