Office of Sustainability
The Office of Sustainability develops, coordinates and supports sustainability initiatives at Princeton University through collaboration with students, faculty, staff and administrators. Through its communication, networking and collaborative efforts, the Office is part of a larger professional community that promotes sustainability initiatives at other colleges and universities, as well as in community, regional and national affairs.
The Office works closely with the Princeton Sustainability Committee (PSC) and its Sustainability Working Groups to advance the University’s performance toward ambitious goals outlined in the Princeton University Sustainability Plan, with the following three priority areas:
- Greenhouse Gas Reduction
- Resource Conservation
- Research, Education and Civic Engagement
Many of the Sustainability Working Groups and initiatives are spearheaded by Facilities departments, including Building Services, Engineering, Grounds and Building Maintenance, the Office of the University Architect, and the Office of Design and Construction, and are central to the continued development of Princeton’s leadership in sustainability. The Office of Sustainability also maintains a separate website, Sustainability at Princeton, detailing sustainability at Princeton in much greater detail.
