Catering Your Event

Your catering options, if you choose to cater your event, will depend on whether your event is department, organization-sponsored or a private event.
Organization/Department Events
If your organization or department event requires the services of a caterer you may either use Princeton Dining Services catering services conveniently located on campus, or hire an outside caterer. Using an outside caterer requires that you follow specific guidelines as articulated here.

Outside Caterers
If you choose you may hire an outside caterer. The following information is intended to guide you when choosing an outside caterer.
- Outside Caterers Insurance Guidelines
The Office of Risk Management insurance guidelines must be followed when hiring an outside caterer. The catering firm must provide evidence of the appropriate insurance in accordance with these guidelines. - Outside Caterers and Dining Services Space
Approved outside caterers are not permitted to use the Department of Dining Services' kitchens, receiving areas or any dining or lounge space adjacent to Residential College dining facilities, Princeton Stadium and cash operations. In addition, Dining Services facilities can not be used as an access route. - List of Approved Outside Caterers
The Office of Risk Management maintains a list of approved caterers who have complied with the University's insurance requirements. If you use an outside caterer and are planning the event on your own it is your responsibility to hire a caterer who meets the University insurance requirements.
Private Parties
Alumni, faculty and staff hosting private parties at Prospect House and Palmer House are required to use Restaurant Associates as their caterer. Catering arrangements are made through the catering managers at Prospect House and Palmer House.
