Beginning fall semester, undergraduate students will be able to use their TigerCard to access their dorm rooms by placing it in front of a reader and entering a PIN. All room doors will have keyless locks and will automatically lock. Students will no longer need to carry a brass key.

Princeton University is committed to upholding existing early arrival and early housing policies in a consistent manner. Dormitories will officially open on Saturday, September 8, 2012 for the 2012-13 academic year. Only those students who meet specific criteria will be considered eligible for early arrival.

Students who violate this policy and paint their own rooms will be fined and charged for repainting (by University painters). Students may not attempt to restore their rooms to the original color.

The departments of Housing and Real Estate Services and Public Safety announce a new lock out re-entry policy for residents of University properties.
