Bedford Field

Project Description
The three teams—men’s and women’s lacrosse and field hockey—have shared an all-weather field at the Class of 1952 Stadium for 15 years. But the type of artificial turf used in the stadium is no longer considered the ideal playing surface for lacrosse. The turf at the stadium will be replaced with a different type of synthetic grass that is the new standard. Adjacent to Class of 1952 Stadium, Bedford Field will be converted to an all-weather playing surface and become the new home of Princeton Field Hockey.
The new field hockey field, with drainage improvements and utilizing artificial turf, will be completed as Phase 1 in 2012. A grandstrand, field lighting, press box modifications, and accessory buildings will be constructed as Phase 2 in 2013.
