
4 Mercer Street Renovation

Project Description
This historic Empire-style mixed use building, former home of the “Town Topics” newspaper, will be fully renovated to allow for three apartments on the upper floors for off-campus faculty housing, plus new office space on the ground floor for University administrative use. All building systems and finishes, as well as basement foundation waterproofing and incoming utilities, will be replaced. A modest brick addition to the east side will replace a replace a current non-compliant egress stair. The design will be in accordance with Princeton Historic District guidelines and bring the building into compliance with current fire code.
