Designed by Davis Brody & Associates, Hoyt Laboratory was completed in 1979. The building contains research area, instructional space, and faculty office space. The original building systems are now thirty-two-years-old and nearing the end of their useful lives. 

This renewal project will provide new mechanical, electrical, and laboratory systems for the building.  A new roof and renewed interior architectural finishes will also be included. This work will extend the life of the building, make it more efficient, and interior fit-out work will be undertaken to create specialized laboratory and administrative spaces for a group of researchers in the School of Engineering and Applied Science.

• New, energy efficient HVAC infrastructure will yield considerable energy savings over the existing systems.
• The existing laboratory fume hoods will be refurbished and modified for safety and better energy performance. 
• Energy efficient lighting and building controls will reduce energy consumption while increasing comfort.
• Renewal will extend the useful life of the building.

Project will be completed in early 2013.
