Holder Renewal Recognized
The project that renewed Holder, Hamilton, and Madison Halls and Holder Memorial Tower was recognized with a Platinum Award in the 2008 Building Design & Construction Reconstruction Awards. The renovation was featured in Building Design & Construction magazine’s October issue.
Completed in February 2008, the renovation provided an all-new infrastructure (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, etc.) while maintaining the historic character of the 170,000 square foot complex. The project, which renewed the interior and exterior of the buildings and included a complete restoration of the 145 ft. Holder Memorial Tower, was done in phases over six years.
The firm of Einhorn Yaffee Prescott Architecture & Engineering P.C. was recognized for their design work on the project with the Citation Award from AIA New York State. The project is one of only a handful of renovation projects to win this design award of nearly 300 entries. The award will be presented at a dinner held at the AIA New York State Convention in White Plains, NY on September 26, 2008. "It has been an honor and a privilege to have been granted the responsibility for renovating such an important part of Princeton's architectural legacy," said EYP Project Executive Mark Thaler.
