Facilities Staff Honored in Richardson Auditorium

Past and present Facilities awards winners gather in Richardson Auditorium.
The Princeton University Facilities organization honored four exemplary employees and a key campus partner in a ceremony in Richardson Auditorium on February 25, 2009. Tonino Cifelli of Building Services, Oscar Smith of Dining Services, and Eric Witter of Administrative Services were honored with the Dick Spies Award for Excellence. This award is presented annually to up to three regular, benefits-eligible Facilities employees with three or more years of service, in recognition of extraordinary excellence, dedication, and quality improvement in their jobs at Princeton University.
Eric Wachtman of Engineering was honored with the Gene McPartland Award. The Gene McPartland Award recognizes one regular benefits-eligible Facilities employee with ten or more years of service, for outstanding honesty, integrity, and strength of character. The award is named for Gene McPartland, a former Vice President of the Facilities organization who exemplified these qualities during his career at Princeton.
Kristin Appelget, Director of Community and Regional Affairs, was honored with the first Friend of Facilities Award during the Awards Program. This award, a means of celebrating the contributions of key campus partners outside Facilities, recognizes persons who advocate for, collaborate with, or provide excellent service to the Facilities Organization.
The Facilities Awards and recognition program, now in its seventh year, celebrates excellence and achievement in the Facilities Organization and its partners.
