Some time ago, there was a power outage affecting the southern end of the Princeton campus. No one noticed. The Princeton Co-Generation Plant, with its state-of-the-art control center, detected the outage and in 600 milliseconds increased its output, generating the electricity needed to keep the lights on.
Sherrerd Hall, one of the newest buildings to open on Princeton University’s campus, houses the Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering, a rapidly growing department of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The building was planned, designed, and built to support the sustainability mission of the University.
