Update: As of 9:30 p.m. power has been restored to all buildings.
A power outage has occured in the Princeton area affecting the Princeton University community. Several buildings in the Stanworth Apartment complex as well as the corridors of Butler College are without power. Although the duration of the outage is not known at this time PSE&G is working to correct the problem.

Each year Facilities conducts a plant steam system shutdown to safely perform new building steam pipe connections, some energy saving projects, and various system wide preventative and corrective maintenance.
This year, the boilers will be shutdown on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 5 a.m. to approximately 7 p.m., approximately 14 hours.
We chose this shutdown date to reduce the impact on campus customers. The steam shutdown will affect all buildings on the main campus,
Electric will be shutdown in the Hibben Apartments on Monday, May 17 while PSEG replaces the main underground transformer. The shutdown will begin at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 3 p.m.
Residents are advised to shutdown electronic equipment prior to the outage.
