Reduced Parking Area in Lot 20
The Facilities Engineering Department will be undertaking a comprehensive soils investigation in Lot 20 just south of the Bridge project and the Carl Ichan Building in support of the new construction for the proposed Neuroscience Psychology Building.
This work is scheduled to begin on September 21, 2009 and will last for two weeks with completion on October 2, 2009. It will require us to isolate the north half of the parking lot starting on Monday, the 21st for safety reasons since this work requires the use of vacuum trucks and drill rigs. Once the work is completed on the northern section of Lot 20 (September 25th), we will similarly isolate the
southern section, opening the northern lot for typical parking. This second phase is scheduled for Monday, September 28th.
Parking spaces will be greatly reduced in Lot 20 from Sept. 21 to October 2. Construction barricades will be placed Sunday night, September 20, 2009 and will remain in place for the first phase. The southern end of Lot 20 will be available for limited parking and will be monitored during these activities. During the morning when this lot becomes filled, a sign at the second Elm Street circle will be placed re-directing individuals to Lot 21 (the lot by DeNunzio Pool, the Athletic Fields and Jadwin Gym). Transportation & Parking Services will
also provide an additional bus that will be available from 9:00 AM until 12:00 NOON from Lot 21 to the present South Campus stop by the Schultz/Lewis Thomas/Ichan buildings.
Please Note: any vehicles left inthe parking area that has been barricaded and in our way will be towed to another lot during our work activities. Car owners will be charged for the towing expense.
