Scheduled Steam Shutdown, July 25-26, Select Buildings Northeast Section of Campus Affected
The Facilities Organization's Department of Engineering will shutdown the steam in several buildings located in the northeast corner of the campus July 25-26. The shutdown is related to the Adlinger Center for Energy and the Envionment construction project. Buildings affected and the estimated shutdown period for each is listed below.
Monday, July 25, 5 p.m. through Tuesday, July 26, 1 p.m.
- Engineering Quadrangle, A-G Wings
Monday, July 25, 5 p.m. through Tuesday, July 26, 3 p.m.
- Von Neumann Hall
- Mudd Library
- Computer Science Building
In the summer steam is used for domestic hot water, some types of clothes dryers, laboratory autoclaves, commercial kitchens, and for space re-heat after the air has been dehumidified by the cooling coils.
