If your event requires a stage or a platform suitable for a speaker or band or other performer, you will need to request the services of the Carpenter Shop in the Grounds and Building Maintenance Department.

Stage and Platform Components
Be aware that stages or platform components are comprised of sections. Each platform section measures 4' by 8', and lays flat to the ground. Each stage section is also 4' by 8' and stands on 1' high legs.

Requesting a Stage or Platform
Because there are so many variables in ordering a stage or platform please contact our experts in Grounds and Building Maintenance who will work with you to make sure you receive the appropriate stage or platform for your event. They will in turn place the work order request for you.

Before You Call
Before contacting Grounds and Building Maintenance staff, consider these questions to guide you in your communications with our staff.

• How will the stage be used?
• If this stage is to be used as a performance stage, have you spoken to the performer and asked his/her requirements?
• Is the stage to be located within a tent? Note, stages within tents will displace tables and significantly decrease seating/standing capacity within the tent. Our staff will work with you to place the stage or platform most efficiently for your needs.
• Where would you like to locate the stage on the site? Note, our staff must consider safety issues regarding the elevation of the stage, installation issues relative to the site's topography, as well as minimize damage to campus grounds. We will work with you to place the stage in the best spot to meet your needs while considering these factors.

Fees for Stages and Platforms
Each component (as described above) is priced as follows and includes labor.

• 4' by 8' platform section $70.00
• 4' by 8' platform section with carpet $100.00
• 4' by 8' by 1' stage section $80.00
• 4' by 8' by 1' stage section with carpet $125.00
• Drum riser $80.00 each (must order at least 2)
