Lockouts (Dormitory Rooms)
The University recommends that you lock your dorm room at all times. It is important to hold on to your room key and to keep it in a secure place and to be mindful of bringing it with you when you leave your room.
To Request Service
If you are locked out of your room please contact the Office of Public Safety at (609)258-1000. Public Safety is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A Public Safety Officer will arrange to meet you at your dormitory. When the Officer arrives you will be required to present your TigerCard as proof of identity. Lockouts are reported to the Housing Office by the Office of Public Safety and are tabulated.
This is a fee service.
Fee Schedule
Lockouts during the first week of each semester are not charged or tabulated. After the first week of each semester all lockouts are tabulated.
- The first tabulated lockout is free.
- The next two tabulated lockouts are charged at a rate of $3.00 per lockout.
- The next ten tabulated lockouts are charged at a rate of $5.00 per occurrence.
- All subsequent lockouts are charged at a rate of $10.00 per occurrence.
