Doing Business with the Facilities Organization
New Supplier Registration and Pre-Qualification Procedures
Suppliers who wish to do business with the Facilities Organization must first register with the Facilities Procurement Office by completing and submitting the FPO Supplier Registration Form with associated attachments and documentation. Appropriate personnel in the Facilities Organization will conduct an initial evaluation and, if your firm is determined to have the skills, personnel, and experience necessary to be successful at Princeton University, your firm will be added to our active supplier database.
Suppliers in any of the following categories will be subjected to a more comprehensive evaluation and formal prequalification process:
- Construction Managers
- General Contractors
- Electrical Contractors
- Roofing Contractors
- Mechanical/Plumbing Contractors
- Masonry Contractors
Suppliers in these categories will be requested to provide more detailed business information about operations, projects, and experience. Appropriate personnel in the Facilities Organization will review the information provided and perform due diligence that may include site visits to the firm’s place of business, interviews/meetings with company principals and key staff, site visits to completed or ongoing projects, and interviews with current or past customers. Only firms who have been successfully prequalified by the Facilities Organization will be included on solicitation lists for work in these categories.
Small, Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned Business Suppliers
The Facilities Procurement Office encourages small, minority-owned, and woman-owned businesses to register as Suppliers. It is our policy to provide maximum practicable opportunity for these firms to compete for contracts for design, construction, and related services.
Suppliers who are interested in working as subcontractors to General Contractors and Construction Managers under contracts with Princeton University should contact those firms directly. For more information, see Facilities Major Projects.
