A Conversation with Max Anderson '01, Co-founder and Co-author, The MBA Oath
"A Protestant Perspective on Ethics in the Executive Suite" - March 31, 2011
Max Anderson is the co-founder and chairman of The MBA Oath Initiative, a grassroots effort to establish a Hippocratic oath for MBAs and other business professionals. Initiated while Max was a student at Harvard Business School, The MBA Oath challenges students and alumni of business schools to commit themselves to principles of integrity, honesty, and fair dealing. Since it began, the oath has been signed by thousands of MBAs from more than 250 business schools. The movement has been covered in dozens of media outlets, including The New York Times, BusinessWeek, Bloomberg, The Economist, NPR, and The Financial Times. Max, along with Peter Escher, wrote a book about the movement, The MBA Oath: Setting a Higher Standard for Business Leaders. The book details the genesis of the oath, why it could make a difference, and how it can be applied to several real-world case studies.
