Visiting Fellows Application Process
Princeton University invites applications for the Carl A. Fields Center for Equality and Cultural Understanding Visiting Fellows program. A maximum of three fellowships will be awarded for up to a one-year term. Fellows will be expected to participate in the intellectual life of the of the program by sharing work in progress, meeting regularly with faculty, students and administrators, and generally contributing to the community of Princeton. Fellows will be in residence during their term of appointment.
Areas of specialization for 2010-11 Visiting Fellows include:
- Scholar in Residence-Anthropology, History, Public Policy, Law or Political Science
- Activist in Residence-Community Organizers, Nonprofit Leaders
- Artist in Residence-Creative Writers, Visual Artists, Musicians, Playwrights
All application materials must be received in hard copy by no later than March 2, 2010. Please submit (5) hard-copy packets of the following materials:
- A cover letter describing the fellowship for which you are applying (please note specific experiences with teaching and community development)
- Curriculum vitae/resume
- A sample of written work (not to exceed 50 pages)
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended
- Three confidential letters of recommendation from academic, professional and/or other references who are knowledgeable about your research and community involvement

Only complete applications will be considered. All applications will be acknowledged. The selection committee will meet in late March. Finalists may be interviewed. Successful applicants will be informed by the middle of April.
